Curt

So my friend Curt had his retirement party today. He has been at AARP for 30+ years!! Amazing. The party was fabulous!! I am going to miss him soooo much!! He would stop by every morning to get his sugar from me :)

This picture was taken yesterday... I can't believe he is80 years old!!

phew...

So thank gosh it is Friday. After my fiasco with the narcotics (totally legal) -- I slowy but surely came back around to being myself :) I don't know how people do it, why they like it -- that was the WORSE feeling ever!!!! So on Wednesday, I rushed home, got my pills and my shot ready for Mike. I waited, waited and waited and he just was not ready to give me the shot. I finally wore him down. By Thursday morning, I was moving a little better and by today, I took my normal pain killer and I am back on track. I never thought I would look forward to my shot or beg my husband to give it to me (get your minds out of the gutter people). The only lingering travestity is that I am not sleeping through the night. But I will take it over that "slurred speech" episode any day. So back to the drawing board. Patience will now come into play with me and it is something I am not very good at ( I know, imagine that!).

Hannah is still doing good at day camp, but that will wear off soon. She was going on a field trip today and was SOOOO looking forward to it that we went early!!

Now my Diesel. What hoot that dog is!! He is not like my other dogs. When he gets up in the morning, he is up for the day. Which totally makes my morning alittle more "spicy" to say the least. He loves to lay on the bed and get involved with my make-up application. So you know me, I apply make up on his face and he LOVES the brushes. He tries SO HARD to eat them. Then he gets all excited and tries to get into my lap. So when he can't do that, he gets my towel and starts nibbleing on it and fluffling it up. And if you are a pet owner, you know what that means. So as I try to get stern with him and tell him to settle, I totally get overwhelmed with how handsome this dog truely is and then I start getting him all riled up again, which would be fine if Mike was not trying to sleep. Then I start kissing him, rubbing his belly and just squeezing his face. I know, bad mom.

Now to poor Zoe, still stuck in the kennal and totally freaking out. So tonight, she will be in my room. I can not have her WHINNING and DROOLING all night long. Only 5 more weeks of this crap. I feel sooo bad for her.

Ok, so I am tired and got an open house tomorrow so I have alot to do tonight.

Too much of something

is not necessarily a good thing. I learned that yesterday the hard way. As we all know, I started a new regime of medicine for the lupus diagnosis. Welp, yesterday I had a rather unsettling reaction to the new pain meds they told me take at night. My speech became slurred and my calfs were in knots. It just kept getting worse. I tried to eat, it would get a little better then it would get worse. So finally I went home. NO, I did not drive (was scared) -- Sandy took me home (thank god for Sandy). I still feel a little odd, but not like yesterday. So last night, I did not take my shot or my doses of the planquenil or benedryl. SO I guess I will do them tonight, hate my shot.

Zoe has stopped eating (well for three days, that would be six meals for her) so I took her out last night and let her roll all over the floor and walk a little bit. She was very happy. Then she ate for me :)

Hannah started Day Camp, and is VERY happy cause she is with Brandon everyday. Ha.. she may have competition. Karen's daughter was a little anamored with him on Saturday. But with that being said, I am pretty sure Hannah would take her out if she tried :) Bad mom....

Party, Party, Party

So yesterday was Hannah's Party, which lasted all day long. First, Libby Lu's for a fabulous makeover and dance routine. In between they got to stuff bags full of goodies. Instead of putting them up here (well not all of them) -- I thought I would share this way, so if you wanna see Hannah and her friends at Libby Lu's, click here.
After that, we took them to lunch, blockbuster and then home to settle down before everyone else came over. That did not work. So finally everyone came and the chaos ensued. Lots of soda, chips, cake and ice cream and the girls were wound up tighter then a drum. Mike did fireworks and then the rain came, so everyone ran into my house and we stayed there and chatted, drank and ate until 11 or so. Man I was tired..

BTW, Zoe's surgery went ok. It did not go as planned and what needed to be corrected was not her cruciate. But she is doing good and stuck in the kennel again on lots of meds. The one good thing about her surgery was that the recovery time is less, 6-8 weeks instead of 16 weeks.

It has been raining all day long so it was a good day to chill and relax, which we all needed. And well the grass and everything else needed the rain.

Enjoy the Hannah glam shots :) She is beautiful!!

Lonely

Diesel is lonely. He is not going to vet today with Dad and can't figure out why. It is because Zoe is having her surgery today, so only one dog at a time. I am going to go up and watch around 10:30. I took Diesel for a walk last night and he got scared hysterical when two dogs approached him, I mean he was SCREAMING like a baby!! I felt so bad for him. I am not sure why he reacted that way cause he around dogs all the time. werid.

Hannah is sleeping, I am going to get her up soon. She starts camp on Monday. Her birthday party is tomorrow at Libby Lu's and then cake and ice cream in the evening and the hopefully we can chill on Sunday. No open houses this weekend.

Mike bought more fireworks last night and keeps lighthing them off, now you know our neighbors have gotta hate us.

I am still so happy right now!!

They have been answered

I am sooooo freakin ecstatic right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Hannah

I can't believe my girl turns 8 today. Well technically tonight, she was born at 11:27 p.m. on Father's Day 8 years ago. She almost did not make it on that day. The doctors did not think I would have her until Monday, but I was determined to have her on Father's day. So after 14.5 hours of labor, she arrived. She has been and will always be the best and most important person in my life.

She has had a blast down at Aunt Denise's this past week or so. I am posting a picture of her from the celebration she had last night at their house. She had cake, ice cream and pizza. She told me she made two wishes and shared one with me. She hoped that we could sell our house so we can get that new one..... the good news is that our contract is back in place with the other house and things are the same. We are picking her up this morning. So I need to go get ready, even though I have a few hours, I am just so EXCITED>>>>>>>>>>>

You the know the reason I am up early is because of Diesel....freak!!

6.19.2006

My 3 wave

so they said bad things come in threes. SO here they are:

1. Diesel ate a hole in my new comforter this morning.
2. Zoe is having surgery this friday.
3. We are probably going to lose the house we love.

that is just in a matter of two days.

I would add the lupus diagnosis, but why bother.

6.16.2006

Well Hellooooo Owen

So I had to have pictures of this cutie!!! He just makes you wanna get on the floor and squeeze his face and smother him in KISSES. Mr. Owen started chemo the other day and should do well!!!

So (like this is a surprise) Hannah is still having a blast. I think today she is going down to Salsbury to spend the night over Kim's -- a movie and pizza are on the agenda.

Mike went out with Steve and Chris last night to catch up and to bs about the chilli cook offs. I went out with Karen last night -- she makes me giggle!! We ended up going out with co-workers and then having dinner. Everytime we get the opportunity to do this we always say "WE HAVE TO DO THIS MORE OFTEN." But in reality our lives are sooo busy it becomes almost an impossible tasks. But the time I have with her, I really do cherish them and they are always memorable moments that make me smile. I realized last night, I have rubbed off on her quite a bit over the years, she has no problem telling you or anybody else what she thinks, and that is funny since she has one of the most amazing, positive, beautiful personalities I ever witnessed. John should know better now...

Welp, we are having an open house this weekend ...WOW, surprise. Father's day is Sunday. Hannah was born on Father's day 8 years ago, she is the gift that keeps on giving (and taking ;) ) ....

Oh, they increased my medication, so I am just waiting for my hair to fall out and to go blind....

6.14.2006

Another day without

my girl. She is having a BLAST. Aunt Denise took her shopping today and bought her an early b-day gift. A game for her DS. I miss her.

Welp, we had a realtor come through today and she is bringing her client in tomorrow. We also have another showing tomorrow in the am. SO I rushed around tonight doing cleaning ... again. This is going to be hard to keep up with, but sooo worth it if we get that house. I was looking at pictures of the new house that I took at the home inspection last week, and I am so in love!! I wanna start planning things out, but don't want to get my hopes up.

Open house Saturday.

Diesel is adjusting very well to his new collar. He is not getting the shock part really at all. We hope to just do it with the beep noise.

Zoe got her first adequan injection... she is PISSED.

Arrangements were made for Hannah's b-day celebration, well the girls part is done :) They are going to Libby Lu's for a makeover..then lunch, then movie and then cake and icecream at the house.

I am tired and had the STRANGEST bout of nausea tonight ... I am ready for bed.

6.13.2006

What's a Mom to do?

Without her Hannah. So she called me tonight, not long after I got home. She sounded so happy and relaxed!!! I miss her terribly and told her that. She talked with Zoe for a minute and then told me to have Dad call her when she got in so she could talk with Diesel (she actually calls him Deedel -- she thinks its funny and cute ).

I am getting ready to get my lovely shot (this shit I have to look forward to is INCREDIBLE). Diesel is chewing on his new toy and Zoe is lying under my chair hiding from Diesel. I got her more meds today and Mike is going to give injections of Adequan two times a week.

I have been thinking all day about my friend Jen (cavendish) who got a call today that her 9 year lab has lymphoma. She was taking him to get an ultrasound and I am hoping and praying that she has some good news. I do know that lymphoma has a good success rate with chemo and radiation. We are all praying for Owen!!!! Diesel & Zoe send smooches!! Now it's my turn to give you that hug!!!...

Finally

We hooked up with Aunt Denise last night in Easton. Hannah and Aunt Denise were so excited!!! Hannah will be down there until next Monday. Lord, what will I do???

So we finally got Zoe girl to the Orthopedic surgeon, she says surgery.. Gotta figure that one out. Recovery for that surgery is 16 weeks people - 4 months and with everything going on ... just don't know if it is the best time.

Diesel is in the dog house, so much so that a shock collar was purchased this weekend :( He can not stop jumping on Zoe and he ate two harness that Mike felt it was time. The goal is to just get him to focus on the audible sound and not have to use the shock portion. Not sure, but he has to calm down with her....

welp, back to grind of work ....

6.11.2006

Hannah never made it

to meet Aunt Denise. We were well on our way when maybe about a mile before the bridge we came to a complete standstill. Eventually we found out they had closed the bridge and there was a three car accident. This is just after they cleared up two previous, so after about 1.5 hours sitting there, I convinced a few cars to inch up and let us out so I could get to a facility. By this time it was well after two and Aunt Denise was calling. Unfortunately there was nothing I could do, the bridge was still closed and the back up was well into Annapolis now. We are meeting tomorrow at noon.

I hate driving the bridge... it scares the living daylights out of me.

whew...

So yesterday was a busy one. After Glenn showed up, we blew up ballons and posted signs all over the neighborhood for the open house. Then we booked our flights to Green Bay, went to the mall, ate lunch, went to the movies, picked up wings for Glenn and Mike and then came home to see how the open house went. It went ok, a few people and some interest. Then we were off to pick up the dogs and then stop by a retirement party. Home by 10 and then we passed out in bed. We get to do it all over again today. Exhausted does not seem to cover it.

Diesel is cracking me up right now, he is growling at a lamp. He is so confused, so many things have changed it the house and he is not sure what to think of it all.

Gotta run, gotta get the house ready.

6.10.2006

T-Minus

and counting. Today they are doing an open house for the townhouse. I have been up since 5:30 cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning. What a morning already!! Right now I am baking cookies and finishing up. I have to tell you I am already done for the day and we still are going to mall to shop and go to the movies to kill time.

We have to do this all over again tomorrow. And we have to get Hannah packed. My little girl is leaving me for a week. She did tell me that she made honor roll and got the effort award again!! You go Hannah!!! She is VERY excited about going down to the beach...

Gotta run, more cookies to bake!!!

6.07.2006

630 again

So I got in early again. Today we have to go over to the house with the home inspector to get the house inspected. Fun!! (not really)

I had to laugh on the way home from work last night. This lady was in front in her SUV driving and had her head completely turned around looking and talking to her kids in the back seat. I can't stand that. UGH!!! Why bother?

I need to get cracking on Hannah's birthday... I know what I want to do, it's just getting it done.

6.06.2006

Things need to settle a bit. Hannah has just a few more days of school and then she is off to the beach. Diesel is causing chaos, but what's new. He had me up at 2, 3 and I finally said screw it and got up at 4. The amazing thing is I as in work by 6:30 am. -- crappy thing is I am really tired and a little strung out. Mike is dozing in the bedroom and has been doing so since we got home. He is really stressed out to0. I really refuse to do anymore to this townhouse. Ha, not a real good attitude right -- I am sure I will change my mind. Zoe is chillin, Mike will take her to see the specialist (yes a doggie orthopedic surgeon) to really see what is going on. She is using the leg ok, but you never know :)

6.04.2006

argh...

I swear, just when you think things are humming along ok and the stars are kinda in your favor... Diesel strikes. Since Zoe has been in the kennal for 4 days, she has managed to mangle her face. We bought her a kennal yesterday with a nice comfy bed in it, but she still is going crazy and digging at the door. So, she has cuts all over her face. She looks like someone put cigs out on her face. And no John, I did not do that.

It was a nice casual weekend, we did some work on the yard and yet again on the house to prepare for open houses and pop up visitors (which I wish would happen). Hannah finished her float on England and is taking her shower. Mike is CONSUMED by is new PSP player. And me, well I am just tired.

6.03.2006

Why, Diesel, Why?

This dog has done some damage lately. He finally got the best of Zoe! You see, my crazy man loves to attack Zoe going up and down the stairs. And Thursday proved to be to much. Zoe has a partially torn cruciate now and has to be in the kennal for at least two weeks and take NSAIDs. She looks so pathetic in that crate :( So to try and help Diesel, I bought him a pull lead (it actually pulls back on their legs if they try to pull on the lead) but within 24 hours he ate it :(

So I will go out today and find another harness that he can't get too and I will continue to work with him until he gets those stairs right. I tell you, I really should drink more because of him :(

The house stuff is still the same, my T/H just went on the market this week so we are planning open houses next week after they put an ad in the post. I hope this goes fast...

Hannah is still sleeping, she had field day at school yesterday!! She is SOOO excited that she is going down to Aunt Denise's for week to play, swim and have fun. What will I do without my little girl :(

Gotta run..

6.02.2006

My car one day very soon

6.01.2006

Can it be June already?

It is and I can't believe it. This means that school is almost out and Hannah's 8th birthday is right around the corner. So many things to do. I just realized yesterday that Hannah gets out of school on June 12th and her camp does not start until June 26. So I have two weeks instead of 1 to get coverage. Aunt Denise called the other day to ask if Hannah could go down to the beach, so this might be a good time as any to go.

Our townhouse went on the market two days ago, and I hope and pray this part goes smoothly. Just one more thing to do and hopefully cross off my list. Ha -- like that is an easy to-do item.

I am tired and need to get a few things done... more later..
