Sadly, the last day

of regular season football. I can't tell you how excited I get every year now when football starts and I can't tell you how I got this way. I am glad that my team -- the 49ers and my husband's team --the packers, ended up with the same record this year, 3-12. I am glad I got to see Brett Favre play live on Monday night. I hope (and pray) that he comes back next year so I can take my husband to Lambeau Field to get the true Green Bay Packer experience. Hannah has even gotten in to football and understands it to a certain degree.
Well, I guess I can't be too sad yet -- I have the playoffs and the Superbowl to look forward to in the next month :) Now to pick my post season teams for the playoffs and the superbowl and do a little betting at work - I love winning ;)

driving me nuts

that dog is ... I did not catch him fast enough and he ate part of a pencil. So I pretty much can gurantee he will be throwing up tonight at some point. I locked him in Zoe's kennel... it's small so he is stuck. HA
Hannah is watching Herbie fully loaded on the big screen downstairs so I came up to order the new DVD HTS for Mikey. She is fighting croup again. This is my first time using Crutchfield and have heard great things... so I am optimistic. I am pretty sure we are running down to OC this weekend to see my aunt and uncle.... and to restock on cigs :)
Enjoy the pictures

feeling run down

not feeling really too hot right now. Body aches and got some swollen lymph nodes in my neck. Got up early to hit some x-mas sales, shop for me and Mike and had lunch and came home to lay down. Two pain killers later and at least I can move. X-mas tree is down today -- too much with Diesel and attacking it. Hannah and Mike are at MeeMaws for x-mas -- I just did not have the energy or the movement to go. I packed up more old clothes to donate from me and Hannah. Now I need to eat.. getting really shaky right now. more later

Merry X-mas

or Buon Natale!!! It has been a couple days, but I have been running around like a mad women. We hooked up with the Fosters and the in-laws! Today we are enjoying a nice relaxing day at home. Hannah had a good christmas -- Santa was good to her!! Enjoy the pictures...

12.22.2005

hannah :)

This is Hannah before school -- acting like she is sleeping :) This is her last day and her vacation starts!! She is also off until Jan. 3rd. A bunch of peeps from work went out to Clyde's last night for Chris's b-day. Had a nice time and was home by 8. I think I prefer the chop though :) My goal for today to clean the house up to get ready for x-mas. We are sticking close to home for the holidays because of my dear, sweet, sick Onyx. Mike's parents will be over x-mas eve and then possibly my parents some time over the holidays. I gotta make plans to see TiTi Kellie and the Fosters :)

12.21.2005

So one more day

until my vacation starts-- YIPEEEEE. I got in work early to finish up a few things and to clean up. Hannah has two more days and her vacations starts also. She came into my room last night squealing about it being only a few more days until x-mas -- I thought she was going to cry she was soo overwhelmed.
Diesel has slept in our bed the last two nights -- it was going fine until he decided to puke in our beds around 3:30. It could be the fact that he keeps attacking the x-mas tree and eating the ornaments. Can't wait to take it down. Onyx is doing ok -- nose is till messed up but doing fine. And Zoe is feeling the cold shoulder from everyone since she has become a raving witch to diesel and onyx. Women!!!

I am still in shock over the piss poor football that I witnessed live Monday night.

12.20.2005

Monday night fiasco

Wow -- what a night!! We got to raven stadium at 6 and tailgated until 8:30-- freezing my butt off. Then we got to our seats. Amazing seats --in the endzone 10 seats up-- right off the corner. It was an experience, I could not believe Favre and the Packers were right there. It was a horrible football game -- Packers biggest loss in like 25 years and then they put in Aaron Rodgers at the beg. of the fourth quarter so we left. When we left it was 34 -3 -- but the time we got home it was 48-3. I am glad I went -- but man that was bad, bad packer football.

the one thing

I have been looking forward to since Mike bought the TV is football and this is the perfect weekend!! Three days of NFL. Well two and then I go see it live. Mike and I went out early this morning to get the toasty under things so we are warm for tomorrow nights game. Mike is at the point where he is giddy about the game and going. Hannah will spend the night over her best friend Alyssa and the Fosters will come down and check on the dogs for us. Mike and I have taken off on Tuesday so we can recoup.

I am also giddy right now, Indy is losing -- finally :)

I can't believe it is only one more week until X-mas.... gotta finish shopping.

No patience

enjoy the picture of diesel...

12.15.2005

another school day bites the dust

So because of the wintry mix (bullshit) -- school's were closed two hours early. So it was my turn to trek all the way home and get Hannah. Days like this I hate driving.
So I am getting used to the TV. That thing is HUGE and amazing. Mike got his playstation all hook up with the correct cables so is would not apprear all freaky like and has been playing this evening.
Tomorrow is another day that will be somewhat of a waste -- it is our company holiday party that starts at noon and I don't get into work until late tomorrow. So I am making another trek for another brief amount of time at work.
I need to finish cleaning up downstairs and get ready for tomorrow. Hannah is finishing up her homework and the doggies are chewing on some RAWHIDE..

12.14.2005

sweet jesus!!

I came home to new 42 in Plasma tv. There is nothing else I can say at the moment...

12.13.2005

treat time

here are a few pics of the crew -- the dogs are waiting for their treats in a few of the pictures. Hannah is posing for the camera... enjoy and goodnight :)

blah

So Mike and I did a lot of shopping yesterday. Mostly for ourselves. We actually went to look at flat screen TV's. I am torn between Panasonic and Samsung. I don't like the wrapping around the new Panasonic. Who knows...

We went up to Arundel Mills yesterday to do the shopping. That place is huge. We got some stuff for Hannah and then had lunch. Then we hit target (yet again) and then to Saturn to pick up the Vue. We ran into our sales guy and had a lengthy discussion about the new sky (I want) and the new SUV that is coming out. I think Mike is eyeing that.

The dogs are doing ok -- Diesel D is up to 23 pounds and enjoying terrorizing Zoe as much as he possible can. He is a rather laid back dog for a puppy. I mean he has his moments but very mild natured. Zoe is doing good -- hiding all the bones she can snag away from Diesel and Onyx and putting them under my bed.
And my boy onyx -- god bless him, he is tolerating the antibiotic blast pretty well (knock on wood) as well as all his other meds. His nose is still blecky.
It is now less then a week from the Monday Night Football game and I am excited. Hannah is spending the night at Alyssa's since we won't be back after midnight.
They are calling for another wintry mix Thursday into Friday -- that means two rush hours could be for shit. Fun!!

12.11.2005

Nice & Comfy

Here Diesel is lying in the crook of my knee. Very content. Not much going on yesterday, I watched Fantastic Four. The movie was pretty entertaining. Hannah clipped toy coupons for her self , Brandon and Wes.
We began Onyx on his antibiotic blast yesterday -- not fun. We also began shooting saline solution down his nose, he hates it.
Mike cooked beef bar-b-que last night -- very delish.
I need to finish a couple things around the house so tomorrow we can take Mike's car for an oil change early and commence shopping (again).
We are sticking around close to home for the holidays since Onyx is very sick and on toooooo many meds. The cool thing is that I am off for like 12 days and only have to take 3 days of leave ... Nice ;)

12.09.2005

what do you do...

So Onyx had some more tests today and the results were not good. It appears as though the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes ( leg and shoulder) and there is a growth (tumor) in his mouth. Which leads them to believe that the problems going on with his nose is a neoplastic growth related to his cancer. The additional sucky thing is that it appears that the growth in mouth is the Squamous Cell Carcinoma that delevoped in his other paws last year and the lymph node problem is related to his subungual melanoma. There is nothing we can do except treat his nose with massive antibiotics and make him comfortable (which is what we have been doing). Mike reminded me today, which I think I chose to forget since Bailey, is that the oncologist we saw said that once a dog is diagnosed with the Sub Melanoma and the SCC -- they have about 4-6 months and it has been about 4 months. Not good.

I don't think you are every ready for this kinda of news, even though we just went through it with Bay.

early friday

It's early and it snowed!!! Actually it is still snowing and everything is closing down. Looks like I will have the rugrat home with me today...

I submitted diesel's picture for the Purina's Best In Show
contest -- so click and vote so my little buddy can win!!!

My Onyx's troubles

Just seem to keep coming. His nose is a mess.. so I thought I would share (not an over share mind you) but just to show you how nasty it is. So I called the vet again to let them know he is having trouble breathing and it smells. So he is going in tomorrow and Mikey is bringing meds and a slide home so we can culture it. Hannah is at Mike's parents house for dinner and to meet their new dog. So I am alone doing a little work and thinking about food. And I guess I am also trying not to get emotional about my boy...kinda hard.

I finished all my holiday cards (score one for me) but I am not doing good on shopping. I will get there.. or shall I say Mike will.
We are expecting snow again tonight -- so I might have a little girl with me tomorrow during the day....
how many more days till my vacation? he he he ...

12.06.2005

Onyx

So I am sitting here finally able to breath a bit and think about my Onyx. He has developed another symptom: sneezing. And not just a sneeze -- he gets caught in the endless loop for a bit and he can't stop which is weird for a dog. My concern (or more on point -- my way of thinking) is that this is his cancer and it is spreading. It's just weird that he is coughing and sneezing all the time now -- and the coughing has not really subsided since they put him on the medicine. So I sit and wait for Mikey to call -- he took him in to work today because there was stuff coming out of his nose also.... the shit I get the pleasure of dealing with on a daily basis. So I guess we all wait together...

12.05.2005

Let it Snow!!

It's early and I have been at work for about 30 minutes. The one redeeming quality for today, Monday, is that it is going to snow. With any luck we will get the 6 inches that they are calling for in the area. The x-mas tree went up this weekend and in the process we cleaned out about a quarter of the attic. Man that was A LOT of work which kinda dampened the decoration fun. Mike put up the outside lights yesterday since it was not so cold. The biggest feet of the weekend was putting out all the trash that we cleaned out from the attic. Mike tried to stop half way in between -- funny man. I have been fighting cold/flu bug and hopefully I will be successful. I got most of my holiday cards out and in the mail... YEAH!!! That is a good thing considering I haven't done them for years. My in laws got a new puppy -- a Shitzu named Seamus. He is a cutie at only 3.5 pounds. I think Diesel weighed that at birth.
Speaking of the bugger -- he had his shots Friday and weighed in at 21.2 pounds at almost 13 weeks. He was trying to attack the Christmas tree all weekend.

Denial

So I have been accused of only writing about Hannah and my dogs -- well that is because that is why I started the blog. Everynow and again, I throw in a dash of me and what is going on with my life. I would prefer not to talk about work for obivous reasons.. it's work. So I guess I could fill you in on a week filled with denial. I have struggled for along time to accept and move regarding my diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis -- I have also (slowly) come to terms with my limitations and not to be depressed about it. I have done a fairly good job of it for three years. Denial is a good thing. I think I told everyone (who reads this blog) that a couple months back they thought I had lupus also. This happened around the same time I messed my knee up -- so the focus was on fixing the knee. Welp, I read my medical records this week at the doctors and they have me listed as have RA and Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) which attacks multiple systems in the body which may include: the skin, joints, lungs, blood, blood vessels, heart, kidneys, liver, brain and the nervous system. So I think I have officically entered my denial phase. I am not sure how long this portion will last, the good thing is that it is another auto-immune disease like RA and the treatments are similar. One Step At a Time -- this is how I will get to the acceptance phase.

So there .. a post about me and it kinda sucked...
