Early Bird

So I went to bed early last night b/c of this cold. Yesterday I was doing pretty good until about 3 and then I puttered out but made it until 4. The traffic was HORRIBLE on the way home due to a car-b-que on route 50. Then once Mike got home, I told him I noticed something odd about Onyx, so we were back in the car going to the vet. We did not get home until 7:30. Then I got back on line to finish so work from a rather shitty day in the office. Then Mike and I compiled some questions for Hannah's guidance counselor that we are seeing this morning and then I was off to bed. And now I am up very EARLY blogging -- what the hell is the matter with me? Don't answer that, because I am pretty sure I am up on that answer.

Diesel is getting big and loves to find a patch of sunshine to lay on. Here are some pictures from Saturday.

Without a Trace

that was my energy this weekend .. without a trace. So I ordered the complete first season (22 episodes) of "Without A Trace" and watched them all while I was and still am fighting this cold. I got turned on to the show in the last two weeks since all my other shows were repeats and figured I could watch something new. So last monday I got on Amazon and bought it used for 20 bucks. Excellent purchase and it has me craving to get the rest of the seasons but they are not out yet. But now I know the story lines :) I also got turned onto Cold Case but they are not out on DVD so I got catch up the hard way - watching them when they come on and out of order :( Oh well ...

So my co-worker got his puppy -- www.angrydome.com -- her name is Willow and she is precious. I can't wait to meet her :)

So I just read my co-workers blog - www.angrydome.com- which specifically blames me for the family getting a new puppy. HA. Now that is funny. I guess if you gotta blame someone, why not blame me. I mean I do write about my obsession quite often. But it's not just an obsession with me -- it has always been a dream to work with dogs and always be around them. I LOVE DOGS!!!! The closest I get is my husband, Mike. He gets to be with them all day long and GET PAID FOR IT!!! I was meant to have dogs in my life ( ALL THE TIME) and to spoil them rotten :) Enjoy more pictures of D.

My russian roulette with my meds did not go in my favor. I now have some sort of sinus infection or flu. MY ENTIRE BODY HURTS LIKE HELL. So to cover all my basis -- I am taking lots of cold medicine ( a variety) and pain killers so I don't feel a thing most of the time. But when they wear off-- GOOD GOOGLIE MOOGLIE -- I feel like I have been run over by a MAC truck.

Must go watch Idol and see who gets booted.

Finally, a moment!

I just got home from work and picking up Hannah and I think I have a moment to breath. Work is going well, well...kinda. It's work, right?

Mike is doing OK. I think still down but throwing himself into work and dealing with Mr. Diesel now. He is having a pissing problem. And the problem is that he can't control it and where. So they are running test and putting him on antibiotics. He actually had a nasty test or shall I say cleaning done today :(

Onyx is Onyx. We have upped his pain meds to 2 pills 2xs aday. So he appears "stoned" all the time, which is not a bad thing. I am pretty sure he is still feeling the pain. The tumor on his kneeish area is getting so big and making walking more difficult. I wish we could cut it out, but we can't.

Zoe is going crazy -- Diesel is feeling "manly" lately and is out for some ZOE. So last night I let Zoe sleep with Hannah to try and get some sleep. I am not sure if she actually did because I am sure Hannah tortured her with some doll clothes and forts. What do I do?

Alas -- me. I am going to go back on my shots tonight. The skin infection is still there but I think it is holding at bay but the RA is rearing her ugly head and walking is getting to be a chore and the FATIGUE is killing me (it could just be the stress of everything) -- so I am going to play a little russian roulette and take the shot and hope my skin infection does not get worse. If not I am off to the doctors for crappy tests again.

We are beginning to look at houses because we have decided we wanna move into a bigger house. Mike is all over this like you would not believe. I am picky. I know what I want, now let's see if I can get it. Hannah just thinks two things: she can get a bigger room and get another dog. I wonder who she takes after :)

very sad news

we just got a call that mike's grandmother passed away. she had been struggling for a while, but we thought she was on the mend. she went quietly this evening -- and I am sure she is very happy not to be suffering anymore. I am sure Nannie is with Pops right now --- smiling...

SNOW

well we got it!! it looks about 10-12 in crofton. We had to get up early because our cherry blossom tree was collasping into the bay window and covering our fron stairs. All better now. Hannah played in it this after and had a blast. We had a snow fight. I have her $10 dollars and we were off to target :)

The roads are ok, but they have cancelled school for tomorrow because I am sure it will all refreeze because of all the melting and the low temps they are calling for tonight.

Snowy Saturday

Well, it finally started to snow. The great thing is we are finally in the area that will get a decent amount of snow. They keep saying our little area will get 10-15 inches of snow!! I can't wait.
It has been one of those days!! Either a side effect from not getting my shot or another flare up is coming from stress lately, but I am completely exhausted and have been sleeping on and off all day. The skin infection is getting a little better, which I hope by Monday it does because if not I am off to the doctors for more tests (I made myself a promise not to let this one go again).

Hannah got her report card and made Honor Roll again!!! We asked her what she wanted for a reward for doing a good job and of course she wanted a game for her Nintendo. Daddy already went out and got it and she is playing it with the same intensity that her dad is with his new game (PS Game - "Arena Football"). Though the change on this report card is still the lingering effects from Bailey's death. Hannah was or still may be, getting very emotional during class and having trouble with keeping her focus. She has gone to her guidance counselor and seems to be doing better, but Mike and I think one more trip for her and one trip for us, and then maybe we can more on. My fear is Onyx and the effect, but she seems to think he won't die soon. Gosh I love her optimism -- it is great for a 7 year old.

Now onto the animals. Of course Onyx is chillin, Zoe is down by my feet as I type and Mr. Special Ed ( we really should have named him that ) is being mischievous. Not sure what he is doing right now. Here is a picture taken about 5 minutes ago -- I can't get over how big he is getting. He will be 6 mos on March 1 and I promise you and that little booger, that he will be having surgery on that day - snip snip and chip chip.

To MIT

media lab and back in 24 hours. I had a nice time. Very interesting!!! This has been a long week and today is only beginning.

I am a little bothered I could not take my shot this week because my skin is acting up all week and all I want is an antibiotic and my doctor won't give me one until I come in and he tests again. Bah!! I just don't seem to have the time to do that.

I need to go start getting ready for work -- cause I want it to be over already.

I am hooked

As much as I hate to admit it. I bought the UFC Liddell v. Couture fight this weekend and it just re-affirmed how much I really like those fights. I actually watched all other fights and really got into it. I was very, very disappointed that Randy "the natural" Couture announced his retirement after losing to Liddell Saturday night.

I am off to Boston this week just for an overnighter to visit the MIT Media Lab.

Hannah gets her report card on Friday -- I am sure she did good :)

I also loved the bud ads during the superbowl -- by far the funniest :)

Glam Rock

Hannah went to her friend, Alyssa's Birthday party yesterday at Club Libby Lu's. What a fun time for a bunch of 7 and 8 year olds. They do your makeup, nails and hair and then u get to make shampoos, hair gel, body lotion or lip gloss. For your hair you have like 5 choices -- Hannah chose glam rock. She just was in awe of the whole thing and totally loved it. Mike and I were laughing the whole time. Here one of the best things -- Mike was the ONLY dad to go and stick around :) What a DAD! We bought her some stuff, including hair and body gel, hair extenstions and a necklace so she could continue the experience.

Now its Sunday and I am ready for some football. Mike made his chili and I have all the bad food I could possibly want to watch the SuperBowl.

Hannah's school project & Diesel's milestone

So Hannah has a project due tomorrow -- a diorama project on Pioneers. Now when I went to school (all girl, private school) - we did not do dioramas so I had not heard of the interesting projects made out of shoe boxes. But oh boy, Mike did -- Mr. I went to Public School (in the ghetto). So he helped her out with my artistic guidance :) I think she did an excellent job!! See for yourself.

Another happening this week is that Mr. Diesel lost his canine teeth and is getting his adult teeth!!!! I have managed to save 4 of his teeth. I have baby teeth from all my dogs :) I could actually make a charm bracelet out of them. That would be funny.

Everything is going ok. Work and home ... no complaints ... TODAY :)
