the cheesehead

hannah is wearing my new GB packer hat that is for the Monday Night game coming up in Baltimore on December 19. I also got some gloves .... and my new shirts and I am ready!!!

I am tired... and a little irritated. I had a shot yesterday and today. I feel like a pin cushion -- oh and yeah they stuck GIGANTIC cotton swabs up my nose yesterday to see if I still had/have a staph. F*%&ers... I can't stand that crap.

Diesel is getting big and mike is wondering if we are feeding him enough.. I think he is fine...

it's almost over

our little vacation. It was so nice not to have to get up and go to work and school. We took Hannah to the hairdresser yesterday and got at least 4 inches taken off her length and she is in love with it :) I think it was much more painful for Mike.

I have to go see the RA specialist in the am ( hopefully they can boost up my shots to weekly) and perhaps a little shopping afterwards.

They have decided to put Onyx on cough medicine thinking it could be allergic bronchitis ? Diesel is doing good -- inching closer to 20 pounds and has the sit and shake command under his belt. Zoe had a trip to the vet this week to get her nails clipped and got a double cocktail of ace and some other sedative so they could clip her nails :)

Mike is downstairs watching football and working on Hannah's Christmas list .. how many days till x-mas? Better yet, how many more days till I have vacation again :)

A smile to my face

so my oldest and dearest friend Kellie found these pictures of Bay -- one when he was a wee puppy and the other when he was like a year or two. He was the sweetest baby ever...

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

We had a wonderful time at the Johnson's. Everything was sooo good. The food -- wow!! Steve made ham that was to die for and a pumpkin cheesecake that has me addicted. Hannah had a blast with Wesley -- running around and playing video games... their lastest "Dig Dug" -- yes the arcade versions(along with Frogger and three other arcade games). We spent the whole day over there, eating till we could not move. Steve was soo kind enough to give me a quarter of the cheesecake to take home -- little did he know I was going to take some if I had to hit him over the head to get it :)

One more day

and we could get snow!! I love snow -- it is cold out there so who knows :)
Today I finished my t-day shopping and now we are watching polar express. I got my packers shirts that I ordered on saturday!!! Hannah went to build a bear this morning and came home with a monkey and named him diesel. And the monkey makes noises.
We also took onyx for x-rays today, now we have to wait and see what (if anything) Dr. Golden sees.
Diesel is up to almost 20 pounds and still a bundle of energy. HE woke mike up last night throwing up ... god knows what he got into.

I hope everyone has a happy thanksgiving and enjoy the football and snow :)

rainy monday

We had parent teacher conferences today and it went really well. Hannah is ABOVE is all her subjects -- she just needs to slow down a wee bit. We got up early to go to that and then do some shopping for turkey day. We then rented some movies - -which went good with the weather happening. We watched Madagascar -- really cute movie. Mike is playing a playstation game he rented right now and I think Hannah fell asleep in my bed. I am gearing up for some Monday night football -- packers vs. vikings. I ordered some packers gear this weekend for our monday night game with the ravens coming up on december 19 -- GO PACKERS!!

SHE DID IT

Hannah made Honor Roll and got a Perfect Attendance award. But I missed it, I did not quite get out of work on time, better luck next quarter. I am just happy she did it and she said she worked really hard to get it. We have parent teacher conferences Monday morning at 8:20

Hannah and I are off work and school for the next week and Mikey has off a few days in between as well. RELAX!

We are going to go to Hannah's godparents (Ti Ti Kellie and Uncle Steve) house for t-day -- and we are splitting up the cooking duties. Can't wait..

The dogs are good. I think I am going to take onyx in for a chest x-ray, his hacking has gotten a lot worse.

What a Day!

This weather is WIGGY!!! Wreaking havoc on me (RA) -- Mikey (Allergies) -- Hannah (Asthma & Cold) - The temperature is dropping as it type.
I am tired and have had trying times these last couple of days. I need to catch up on some housework, watch tv shows and prepare for tomorrow. The work never ends.
Two more days till Hannah's report card ... tick tock
I did some shopping with my friend Jen C today to work off some steam ... it was just what the doctor ordered. I am off to do my work :)

heart of beans

This is a little heart that Hannah made out of beans years ago -- I look at it everyday and smile. Right next to it is a picture of Hannah's hand and it asks "Why do I love Mommy?" and Hannah replied "Because she makes me macaroni and cheese." She did that about two years ago. Funny. Simple :)
Good weekend ... Did a little shopping, a little chillin and a little driving. Thank GOODNESS -- Football was worth watching this weekend. Hannah has been fighting a cold all week and finally started to feel better Saturday night. We went out to Fudruckers and then had birthday cake at the Foster's for Justin's 10th birthday.

The dogs are doing ok -- they are socializing a wee bit more then usual and that makes me grateful. I got a card in the mail today from one of the docs ( Dr. Golden) that took care of Bailey -- he made a donation to Noah's Ark Wildlife Center (Annapolis)in Bailey's memory -- this makes me smile :)
One more week and I am on vacation -- this makes me ecstactic.... Cheers!!

Special Ed

Diesel has grown since coming to the Stanford's -- he had his 10 week check-up --15.8 pounds. Enjoy the pictures -- he cracks me up

Early

so I am at work already (I feel like I just left) and I am tired. Hannah loves the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and watched it for the 3rd time with Dad last night. I had a drink last night with co-workers and friends -- not a late night -- got home by 6:45. I am laughing right now because I am listening to my iPod and Britney Spears is on ...
I just put my Mountain Dew in the freezer to get it really cold -- but I really want it now.
I have been waiting patiently for the new Sky convertible from Saturn -- it will be in my area in a few weeks -- I finally get to put my hands on it. They also have the perfect color for me "Black Onyx" - I have to get it ... Here she is

tuesday with hannah

So I raced around after work today to rent Hannah the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie and get her fast food. I got it all done and picked her up by 5:10 -- she was very happy. I let her know that she can watch the movie in my bed because I wanted to watch my shows downstairs. As we are getting out of the car to go in the house, she asked "Why Onyx wasn't dead yet?" I stopped dead in my tracks -- I said "What?" She said because of his cancer. Now I understood -- we told her at the same time about Bailey and Onyx and wanted to know since Bailey died why hadn't Onyx died -- so I had to explain it was a different kind of cancer and it was in a different place. So she said "It isn't as bad as Bailey's?" I told her yes it was but it was just taking it's time and that I did not want him to die. She then told me she didn't want any of her dogs to die, but Bailey did. Very sad.
She is in my room now watching the movie and Mike is downstair yell "Diesel NO" -- must be biting his foot again.

I thought I would share some pics of Onyx and Diesel fighting over bones -- funny how frisky Onyx can get over a silly bone and then to see this little dog take him on like he isn't afraid.

11.07.2005

WORE OUT

thanks to Hannah -- Diesel did not have any accidents in the house today. Thank goodness -- I came home not feeling so hot and was not up for the pee party. He is passed out in my bed right now, I think mostly because Hannah worked him out and he needed to get away. I got him some flip chip bones today which made him very happy. Onyx and Zoe got some greenies which made them, well, green. I am off to watch monday night football... GO PATS!!

11.06.2005

lame ass football today

good lord, so I sat down to watch some football and I regret it. Baltimore sucked, Green Bay blew even harder and I am not even sure why San Francisco bothers anymore. The only redeeming factor for today -- KC Chiefs pulled one out of there ass with 1:45 left on the clock -- amen for Trent Green. Also, I see the Vikings have something to cheer about- Brad Johnson and a win. Let the Philly & Redskins game give me something to get worked up about. Oh and one more wish -- Please oh Please let NE beat the Colts ...

On a sidenote -- why the hell is it almost 80 degrees in Nov? I had to turn on my a/c today because I though I was gonna roast along with the dogs ( yes people I would rather be cold then hot) --sucks...I want some chilly november air moving in town soon.

11.05.2005

lame today

The cable guy came out for the 5th time in less then a month -- our internet connection keeps going out and it sucks. It went out again about three hours after he left. Hannah finished her first quarter of second grade yesterday -- I know she will get perfect attendance and I hope she gets honor roll again. She gets her report card in about two weeks, right before the Thanksgiving break.
So I did not do much today -- caught up on all my shows from this week and watched "Halloween." Even though it was a really nice day, I could have used a little more of a breeze to move through the house.Diesel is doing well -- he is up to 13 pounds and learning the routine. Even Onyx is loosening up to him. I convinced Mikey to make me chili for football tomorrow, so he is beginning the batch tonight :)

locked in jail

so tonight is kind of a tough night for me -- just tired of riding the roller coaster of emotions. It's been a month since Bay passed and it's been hard to say the least. Life in the Stanford household has not been easy for anyone. Hannah has been crying in the evenings about Bay. Onyx is so confused and Zoe is just a mess. Now I know it was not the ideal time to bring a pup into the mix -- but it was fate. Too many variables in the mix to pass this little guy up. My heart is just toooooo big when it comes to this breed and dogs in general. The only reason I don't have more is Mike and well my wee house. Hannah is having to adjust to the puppy too, he's not quite up to par in the playing arena and she is tooo much for an 9 week old puppy but we will make it work. Hell we got zoe when she was two and Hannah learned how to deal with her :) Mike and I are struggling with new puppy blues and him piddling so much -- but again we will get over that soon too. It is a group effort and we just need to pitch in and make it work. Now Diesel came to us partially kennel trained -- so going in the kennel helps him relax and chill when needed. So when you look at the pictures don't feel bad -- he just had an hour of Hannah and Mom time and a little training on how to sit. Hannah also needed decompression time so she is ready and chilling before bed. Mike is off at a seminar (laugh, snicker snicker) and I just wanna go to bed because Diesel has had me up at 4 every morning. I know... do I want some cheese with that whine :)
