onyx and hannah

So he is doing ok -- very much drug induced ok, but ok. It is going to be a tough week waiting -- but what can you do? I actually have a picture of the toe, but thought it was tooo gross from public consumption. Especially since they shaved his foot before and it looked a heck of a lot worse then I remembered.
Hannah was a trooper last night dealing with me (sad, I know) but I have weaknesses -- he is one of them. And no people I am not sharing the rest with you.
Hannah just got done her "All About Me" project. I will share later -- must go tend to the family and the dogs.

Onyx

So he did have to have surgery -- they amputated another toe with the chances that it is Squamous Cell Carcinoma again. That is a type of cancer that can affect the skin. Large-breed dogs with black skin and hair coats may be more likely to develop multiple tumors of the toes. So that is ONYX -- my black lab who now is down three toes and the concern now is: Did it spread? We will find out in a week. I will say I took it very hard last night and was inconsolable for a while. He looked so pathethic last night when he came home -- still suffering from the effects from the anesthesia and very unstable. He is my baby and I can't stand this.....

another tuesday

Hannah is busy eating her take out tuesday fare and I am sitting here working on her "All About Me" project she has to do -- making sure she has pictures for all the items she would like to put on her pennant. I am not doing it for her people, but just making sure she has everything she needs. She had another good day at school -- math and recess again. She has math homework tonight -- 2 pages. She says she is done with homework, I get to check it. After that -- she cleans her room and then she gets free time (no TV) -- I know hard -- but she has gotta do her thang. And it gives me time to chill and clean up





Onyx is at the vet with dad. He has something going on with his back toe -- I am soooo praying it is not a form of cancer again -- like last year. It looks UGLY! and if I had my camera (mike took it to work to take pictures of his nasty dentals) I would show you my poor babies toe. I don't think he can go through another amputation. That would be his third and with his hip dyplasia and rebuilt knee -- that would just be too hard. So say a little prayer for my boy -- he's the one that really makes me smile. After all, it was the first thing Mike every game me :) reason enough to smile

Her first day of school is in the history book and the final assement: She enjoyed herself. She said her new teacher, Ms. Finley, was very nice. And Hannah did not get in trouble at all. She did math work today and had recess. When she came home, she did her 15 minutes of reading :)
I decided to let her help me cook dinner. She wanted shrimp (no cooking needed), green beans and mac and cheese. So hannah made the mac and cheese. Boy do I love mac and cheese, I had to come upstairs so I would not eat it.. well I took a bite or two :)

1st day of School!!

Welp it is here and she is on her way. She is excited -- which I am sure will go away during the day.

counting donwn

till school starts tomorrow. I can't believe it is that time already, but Hannah needs to get ready. She is vegging today -- watching TV and playing gameboy. We went to the Foster's block party last night in the rain -- well it was not raining when we got there but sure enough was raining when we left. I had a pretty good time -- me love cookout food :)
I finally watched the movie "Dodgeball" yesterday, I was surprised. I laughed my butt off. Could of been I was desparate to watch a new movie... but I did say I will have to purchase it.

Well off to see the surgeon tomorrow morning. Mike is betting they put me in an immobilizer for 8 weeks- which means I still could go New Orleans. Yeah!!! I am betting no on the immobilizer -- I will say this: my knee still hurts...

hair did

so she is done. I just got done doing Marissa's hair and it turned out pretty good!! Not bad :) She is going to get her nails, feet and eyebrows done tomorrow -- she will be a head turner at school on monday. The young one is Maya -- she just loves to have her picture taken. Mike just loves her :)

they survived ..well more importantly I did

I actually fell asleep before they did, but Mike hung with them until they fell asleep around 11. So that is not to0 bad. I was tired. I woke up yesterday at 4 and could not go back to sleep and I was at work at 6:45. That stinks. Then I went and had a drink with coworkers -- thanks to Kate and John for hanging out with me. I have to do Karen's other daughter, Marissa, hair this morning. I am sure it won't take too long, I am just throwing in some highlights. Hannah is in her room watching sponge bob and dee dee is downstairs watching spiderman 2. Mike is hiding in the kitchen because I made breakfast.
My knee is doing ok today -- hurt like a you know what yesterday, which I am sure is because I was on it all day.

TGIF

well that goes without saying. The last weekend before school starts and Hannah is having another (yes another) sleep over. This time it's DeeDee --(that's my girlfriend Karen's daughter) spending the night over our house. We just got back from getting movies and dinner. They are 7 weeks apart. Karen and I were pregnant at the same time -- must have been the water!! They got three movies -- Winn Dixie, The Pacifier and a Pokemon movie (bleck). Hopefully they both will pass out early -- tomorrow we are suppose to go see a movie. Lord .. I am going to need a nap.

and the results are in...

for my knee... I have tore my ACL. Here's what they say" A major ACL injury is seen with, at least, a subtotal tear. Clinical correlation is advised with respect to the possibility of any underlying clinical instability which might suggest a complete interruption. There is a trace effusion (blood or fluid) without a cyst."
So needless to say, I am seeing a surgeon on Monday morning. I think I am going to need surgery (the odds are against me on this one). So I think my great high heel shoe collection is on hold right now. Now I must go shop for good looking flat shoes (that just sounds so boring). The good thing is either the roids are working (cause the pain in not the bad right now) or my tolerance for pain is way high. We will see on Monday.

ok so he is not a baby anymore -- he's 4 years old today!! But he will forever be my baby. We went over to ti ti's house for cake and ice cream and the boy was ready when we walked in the door. He was yelling "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!" He is the most animated little boy I have ever met!! He just make me laugh all the time!! Just like his mom. :)

so if I have lupus

So I have been thinking -- if I truly have lupus on top of the RA -- then I can deal with it. It would just be one more piece of the puzzle. Besides nothing I can about it -- right?! I got see the dr on thrusday morning, so hopefully they will have some more answers to my never-ending list of questions -- I just really want to know what happened to my knee and wrist and will it get worse? who knows right? keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned ....

hannah is going to alyssa's house

tonight to spend the night, so I can go to work tomorrow. She starts school next Monday, so we finished everything up. Got her meds for school, her assignment book and found out what teacher she will have. I think she is excited, I mean it is school. All her supplies are ready and in her new back pack -- now to pick out the right outfit for that first day. Why I obsess about these things is a mystery to me...
She is playing right now with her petshop toys and watching blues clues. She got up this morning when Mike was leaving and cried -- and begged him to stay. He felt soo bad. She was back to sleep within five minutes and slept until 9:30. YEAH.

so hannah had everyone in bed this morning... dad, bay, zoe and onyx. bay was the only one who would stay.... but then he finally got away.. :)

So Hannah is stil sleeping. I snuck to take this picture and it did not even phase her. I ran out to Target to kill some time before she got up and yet still not awake. We went over to the fosters last night and had dinner. She missed brandon so much. They took the neighbors dog and ran him ragged. They asked if she could come back at 6:00 every night to do the same thing. Apparently it had the same effect on her... sweet dreams princess!

vox vodka, hypnotic for dr. golden, fudge for mike and my cigs ( from my favorite raspy women) what else did i get in OC? oh yeah, the most IMPORTANT ITEM -- Ms. Hannah is back home. She was soo missed. I made good time getting there .. hit OC at 9ish. Aunt Denise took such good care of my girl... she has a nice dark tan. She fell asleep on the way home and now is ready to go see mr brandon (her man) -- so we are off to see the fosters for the alittle while :

it's a little after 6 am and mike and I are going down to OC to pick up our girl. can't wait to see her. Yesterday, Mike's boss picked me up after they went to a wedding and we went out for drinks. Between Dr. Schmalls (Cindy) obession with her dress and how it made her shelf look and Dr. Golden loosing terribly at the trivia game (yea, I beat him, but not by much) -- I had a really good time. Now, they are fun :) .. Mike took me to pick up my car at saturn (just the usual crap -- oil change, alignment and blades ) and then we went home. I would like to kick comcast's a** - my digital cable upstairs is not working so well and they are not coming out till monday. I wonder what kind of deal I can get out of that.
That's it for now -- I am going to go get ready for the trek to OC. Now I can go back to posting about Hannah...

happy birthday kumie...

today's was kumie's 25th -- wow time flies. As we say with pride "our little girl has grown up," I can't believe when she started that she was just 20. Alot has changed. I hope she likes what we got for her ... Hannah helped pick it out. Can't go wrong with her choices :)

Went to the doctor today -- MRI tomorrow morning. Tons of tests today -- blood work and tons of new meds to take. Werid thing is that they bought up me having lupus but did not go into details ... yet. Oh well, I am not going to let this one get to me yet. One thing at a time.

Hannah is coming home in two days .... she can't wait and neither can Mike nor I. I took the old man out to dinner tonight. Gosh can he make me laugh ... all the way home. He is the only man I know that came make me laugh so hard my stomach hurts. good times...

another day without hannah

she is having a blast!!! we miss her soo much. came home a little early today -- something wrong with my knee. Werid thing -- it is like my wrist the other day -- a lot of pain and won't work so well and I did nothing to it. So the doc wants to see me first thing in the am to see what is going on and to get an MRI to see if the bones are deteriorating from the RA. I am hopeful that it is not... but man does it hurt.
We just got done watching "sin city" -- not sure what to think about that one except there are a lot of butts going on in that movie. whew...
going to lay back down again...

a little better today

So i talked with my girl last night -- too funny. She is having a blast -- which I knew she would with Aunt Denise. I mean I always did when I was growing up and I still do. Mike called before going to work this morning and said he was a little depressed -- it was too quiet without his girl. The picture is of them last year at the beach -- it was her first walk on the beach ever .... it was kinda cold and rainy. so sweet...

Bailey misses Hannah too

So I will try not to be all weepy about her being gone and view this as a wonderful time for Hannah -- but today still is hard. Bailey misses Hannah a bunch .. that's his buddy. He is not sure what to do.

I am sure she is having fun with her Aunt Denise, Uncle Brad and a big surprise -- Aunt Nancy.

I asked Mike on the way home what was I suppose to do since she is not here and said he understood since I was used to having her with me all the time. Yes I know people .. I have issues with that. But she is my only child .. and will be my only child. So with that done harping on it and I will try to fill my week with fun Gina and Mike things...

So she is leaving me ....

Hannah is leaving me this week to head down to OC until Saturday. I have never been apart from her for this long. She pinky promised me that she would call me every night. This stuff makes your heart hurt... So what to do while she is gone? hmmm..

Today is much cooler..

In the house that is!! It is amazing what we take for granted -- like AC. The house has finally cooled down to a nice 70 degrees. The doggies are no longer panting. YEAH!!!! I am being greedy today and leaving in the window for a little while -sweet indulgence.
I am doing some paring down today -- clothes and shoes. I have already filled up one bag of clothes and shoes to donate. I also did a little crap music shopping on Amazon -I hear these songs on movies I watch and I have to have them . So I bought some used CD's on Amazon - one for a penny and one for 2.49. not bad. Let's see how that all pans out. Here's one that I had to buy -- it's off the thirteen ghost movie and another one is from kiss the girls . Yes I know they are on the opposite ends of the spectrum -- but they are fun.
Hannah has been playing on the computer all morning - jamming to some barbie music and singing at the top of her lungs!!! too cute.

So I am off to finish my fun...

I found out why it was so hot in my house

My compressor blew on my ac unit. Mike went out to go get a window unit because we were not sure if we could get somebody to come out. Luckily we did and my house is a boiler oven, but the ac is fixed and we put the window unit upstairs for the night since it was hotter up there. Thanks goes to the ac man (John Inak - who was done for the evening when he graciously took our emergency call) and Mike's parents for coming over to take Hannah out for a while -- since she has asthma and this could have gotten ugly. So right now I am sitting in front of this lovely, lovely window unit... enjoying the nice hum :)

Feels like 107 -- what the hell is that. It is so hot that my house can't cool down below 76 -- which is hot for my doggies. Too hot -- make it go away.

brett --- what a man..

so you know i had to give props to a beautiful man -- Brett Favre. Not only did he play some good game last night (that was a beautious drive and pass --pure favre!!) but my man was on the front page of usatoday -- yum. what an amazing man. we need more of those. Sorry-- got on a little bit of a rant. moving along. That's my cheesehead from my friends in the AARP Wisconsin State office :)

Hannah had her last day at camp -- good times. She is trying to stay cool in the insanely hot weather. She is playing her gameboy. I have to get rid of that thing for a while, she becomes a little bratty when she plays that and won't put it down. No big plans for the weekend (thank god) -- some how i hurt my left wrist (yes, I have no idea) -but it very painful to use. So Mikey wrapped it and I popped some nice painkillers.

it is so nice to hear those sounds on tv again and not have to watch the NFL access channel to get a taste of it. Real football... green bay is on tonight .... YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Today was good for Hannah -- no reactions and not bad stories from the field trip. This is her last one with camp. Amen. She came back with half the beach in her bag and towel. She is trying to get all the sand out in a shower. She went to dinner with her grandparents tonight -- so it was a good day. I got to have a drink with my work group -- fun!!! We ended the evening with my favorite shot (and you know what that is) -- the guys were not happy. Thanks goes to John for totally yelling an inappropriate comment out when my husband called. too freakin funny ... and I got to punch john a few times for it too. It was a good day..

it's up and over

Wednesday that is ... the rest of the week should be down hill right :) Hannah has a field trip tomorrow to mayo beach. should be fun! Hopefully no bad reactions to anything going on the trip!!! This is also her last week of camp and I had to do some fancy planning to get hannah coverage for these next two weeks!! Hannah is going to Ocean city for a few days and then the following week I am staying home for two days and she will spend two days with her best friend Alyssa. She is soo excited about both events. Mike is talking to my Aunt Denise about when and where to meet for the drop off on Monday. I am so going to miss Hannah -- she has never gone away from me for this long....but I am sure I will be fine. I guess mike and i will catch up on our time. I am tired and dealing with an odd flare up again from the RA -- not sure if it is shot related or stress related. The pain killers seem to be keeping it at bay right now, but I am thinking I need something stronger. Here is a great picture of Hannah and her girls :)

bitter women

ok so I know tuesday are reserved for Hannah's take out day and yes she had it today. but today is also know at shot tuesday and let me tell you -- I am a bitter women on these days. you would think I would be used to it by now --but NOOO--- I am not... I HATE THEM but I am grateful for them (they have really have slowed down the progression of my disease) -- but that sh** hurts my a** --- it burns!! ok.. I think I am done....
So this is my pity party -- you're invited -- feel sorry for me for a minute...

BOSCOE

So I found these pictures cleaning up my files. This is Boscoe -- one of my favorites. He belongs to my friend, Kellie (Ti Ti). She rescued him through the Great Dane Rescue league. He was in pretty bad shape when she got him, but man did he get lucky!! He is doing well and loving life. We call him "special" and is just the most handsome dane I have ever seen.
